DA's On A Dark Path

You know there are trolls in Lord of the Rings, right? Speaking of which, I reported a bug exploitation against me (I won't say what tis but I will say it didn't hurt nor bother me but *I* didn't cause this and so I feel strongly because of my ideas of proper moral codes and work ethics that DA should fix a problem THEY caused in their own product I PAY for, its caused corporate responsibility or as is the norm corporate irresponsibility as they are the true rulers behind what you call 'the Western world') to the help desk, they told me that where the woman assigned to it took over 4 months and didn't do anything else so I brought it to another worker's attention the bug that caused the exploitation was fixed so they couldn't reproduce it however it was up to me to deal with fixing the mess they caused (the bug was caused by this whole facebook copying crap) and suggested I unblock and reblock this troll and refused to tell me what to do if this didn't work or how to get quick help if this particular troll did something malicious while the stupid 48 hr reblock prevention worked as I pointed out I understand DA can't respond quickly due to site volume BUT this having to unblock them to try to rid an exploitation was NOT caused by ME, it's DA's fault not mine. After the exploitation this troll moved on and the exploitation was minor bust still most people in the world nowadays are crazies and you can never tell what they'll do so I feel an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. the reblocking however did NOT 'reset the exploitation' and when I went to add this to my ticket I found out why DA refused to answer my questions. Not only had they closed the ticket as after each time of telling me to basically fix it myself they refused to allow comments so I indeed filed a followup telling them what I feel in my heart is true which I say here as well. Their actions to me and other users in tickets (one user reports they told DA they weren't picking up mentions and were told to deal with it; I found this hard to believe until *I* was basically told to fix it myself; though a hate crime committed against me was ignored by the same woman that ignored this issue until a different person warned them nearly 6 months later, she always seems to drop the ball and then others have to step in although this time it wasn't satisfactory) as well as refusing to listen to our opinions on site updates even when we are PAYING users, and some other things I've seen but won't mention shows they have a deep and growing disrespect for us as well as their own product (by refusing to fix the issues YOU cause with it esp. to paying users it makes it look bad and makes us less likely each time to put MORE money into a sinking boat), just like facebook. It appears DA is off to a wonderful start at copying the crappy features, bugs, and disrespectful attitude, and not caring about the product anymore and all. Great job copying facebook but it reveals a troublesome path DA appears to be on. Don't expect us to stick around when you won't help us and don't care for us OR your own product just because our art is here and our friends are here; we can share art elsewhere and we can get in touch with friends elsewhere. Then when all decent users have moved on because of the deplorable lack of respect and caring all that will be left is a pocketful of actual artists and hordes of trolls to pester them until they wonder if they should move on as well. If this facebook copying makes it so hard to fix problems and makes the employees that uncaring from lack of food, sleep, whatever then I'd stop here and now instead of continuing on the dark road I see ahead. Its quite obvious that DA doesn't care what we have to say anymore but I'm only trying to help as I've been a loyal, paying customer at DA and I don't like the path they've chosen at all. So, I have many things to think over regarding MY future here as well.

UPDATE (10/14/14): DeviantArt admitted to dropping the ball, apologized, and is now working on fixing the problem.

UPDATE (10/16/14): I see DeviantArt has unleashed the annoying monster copy of facebook. I find it rather annoying esp. as I plan to never use the new features. Bloody waste of time to make facebooky redundant changes if you ask me. I saw also that they put the stupid hash tags right in the area we who spoke up about it last year when they talked about revealing keywords told them not to if they were going to at all even though we didn't want them to. Again, I have much to think over regarding my future on DeviantArt.

For now, I've decided to completely remove ALL tags. Frankly, I'm getting tired of having to devote entire days to fix DA caused issues. Also between the 4 hrs I was here last I return to see that even though others have already had it, a worthless, redundant, ugly 'Activity' widget set up on my profile even though *I* did not install it and have been against it ever since I read about it months ago and told DA I will not be using these new facebooky features. I am a PAYING user and I have to deal with annoying, ugly facebooky changes which I shall never even look at aside from the forced menu changes in which I have no choice but then I have an ugly facebook style widget installed by DA against my will. That alone pisses me off but I know of a way it can be used by trolls but I'll not say more. Uninstalling the widget prevents this abuse. I've already erased this ugly monster but I resent having my rights trod upon esp. when I pay for a service.

UPDATE (RED ALERT): In addition to the other problems on DeviantArt has caused by their facebook copying, blocking hardly works anymore aside from on the comments section of your profile so people you blocked can comment and you won't be notified nor will YOU be able to comment back, only the blocked people can comment! So, with this huge security breach, which has been tested and proven by a friend and I, ALL of my work is now in storage until further notice and if such blatant disregard for the users, our rights, our choices, our privacy, and our security keep being disregarded my work may very well remain in storage and become ONLY a watcher and keep all my future art private. The reason I put all my work in storage is to protect my work as well as have less pages to have ads on and so through their intractable attitude lose money. That teaches them to respect us better than anything. Obviously they only care about the lose of money NOT us, as proven by putting out their facebook copying crap with no regard to the huge blatant security issues. I suggest YOU do the same.
RED ALERT UPDATE: DA has finally fixed the security issue.

UPDATE (10/23/14): Saw some proposed updates to the new 'improvements' as they call the facebooky copying crap that I find potentially disturbing so this factors further into my dissatisfaction with DA.

UPDATE (10/24/14): More and more talk about making updates to the Facebook copied features and more talk about making MORE features, like notes more Facebooky. I'm not liking this at all. I'm already preparing an alternative for myself, a private gallery page so that, personal life, revamping resources, and updates are taking a lot of my time. I've already decided that since DA is determined to "bring us closer" when I don't trust people easily and can easily see most of the world are evil and though I like to share my art I prefer to cut my contact with the world at large as much as possible. So, I decided to take some steps to do what I can to further limit it here by unwatching several groups and should things get even more Facebooky, more disturbing morally or principley, or too much uncared for stuff to look at I have many, many in mind to unwatch already. After the unwatching phase I have further plans I've only touched upon for now but will get into them more when the time comes, as I expect given the state of things.

UPDATE (11/3/14): From what I see the site's been going up and down for nearly 11 hours now so I suspect tis a bug caused by further facebook copying.

UPDATE (11/7/14): I've been able to confirm that DA has totally screwed up artist comments so artist icon tags do NOT work, thanks for shortchanging me on what I PAID for!

UPDATE (11/14/14): Looks like DA might be planning to add 'Deviants You Might Want to Watch' in an effort to copy Facebook's 'People You May Know' crap. Just to follow the popular herd and make more money, as they put it albeit in a more untruthful manner. I'm going to be honest, I'm getting thoroughly fed up with the way the world, must less DA is unable to make a judgment call and gives up freewill willingly more and more forever and follows the herd in everything. I'm disgusted by the lack of independence on DA and the world at large (esp. in a supposed 'free world'), the lack of respect and amount of bullying/trolling on DA and in the world as a whole, the way DA has become a troll haven and is beginning to have more porn and sexual content than Playboy could have ever imagined possible. Why can't people grow up, learn respect and stop following herds? I shudder to think of what the world will be like when the last of us free thinkers are gone. I fear its getting there already must less when we are all gone.

UPDATE (12/18/14): Even though it previously worked before the switchover to a more facebooky deviantart I noticed since the change I haven't had the 'More from this artist' on any of my works so I asked DA to fix it and they reported to me that they couldn't as this wasn't a bug. They said since I have sharing disabled its no longer available. I've had sharing disabled for years now and it worked before the facebook copying so that's a pretty stupid decision to make as not all of us like social networks for many reasons. It just another thing they neglected to tell us on all those updates about how glorious deviantbook is. Great, jackasses.

UPDATE (12/23/14): I've been in a heated debate with deviantart about our rights as users, esp. us paying users and their responsibilities and frankly I'm getting sick of their self-righteous corporate attitude. They are just like every other corporation just trying to use us to maximize profits which is why they want to try to strongarm us into being 'more social' and more 'pro-social networks'. That way more of the social networks' users come and generate them more ad-based income. Thats the whole reason they are into the whole facebook copying. They don't care about us as users be we paying or not, our rights as artists, nor their responsibilities. They only care about money like every other corporation. Frankly I'm getting tired of their childish corporate superiority attitude. So, if things get much worse I am considering leaving deviantart or withdrawing most of my work from it anyway and only using this place for commission related art as if they're only going to use us to make money I may as well do the same as I'm actually a REAL person who needs money for his family to survive not just some BS organization declared by law to be a person. I'm sick of giant baby corporations getting their way all the time, thinking they can run over us all the time, and acting more irresponsible and immature than a 2 year old having a temper tantrum.

I've tried to be an example to others in this website thats growing more and more into a cultural and artistic wasteland populated more and more by trolls but frankly I'm sick and tired of the corporations running and ruining the world and taking advantage of us. The corporate world is a big pile of crap and deviantart is just another maggot in the pile.

UPDATE (1/16/15): It revolts me that DA can support an utterly disgusting and offensive corporation like Charlie Hebdo while celebrating America and Indian genocide holidays like Thanksgiving and Columbus Day among others. UPDATE (2/28/15): After about 4.5 months deviantart has finally done away with the social sharing requirement for 'More by this artist' to be seen. It's about time! Thanks for finally fixing this and I hope you fired the rude argumentative lying staff member who refused as it 'made us be more social' as well.

UPDATE (5/21/15): Deviantart says its going to 'simplify'. People are retarded and da's facebooky updates only attracted more whom I'd say are even more so as they think this place can be used like facebooky and each time they upgrade you create multiple unfixable errors due to either A) irresponsibility in testing or B) Laziness on da's part (I've encountered at least 5 bugs since the new facebooky deivant art which I was told was easily fixed and told several things to do, none worked, and then was told it was on da's end but unfixable, just yesterday for example) so since people are so stupid da should just quit while it's ahead if you can cal it that or better revert to the old days before the facebook style updates when deviantart used to be unique as opposed to green facebook.

I'm getting sick of the stupidity of da never fixing problems on their end.

UPDATE (6/22/15): DA's totally screwed this place up with their damn retarded updates and with the ones they've announced but haven't implemented yet I expect it to get even more retarded. I'm getting real sick of your shit DA. REAL SICK!

UPDATE (6/26/15): It's funny to me dA can support LGBTs, USA, Racists, etc. no matter how evil, no matter how dirty or under handed or corrupted the garbage type people they support are and no matter what they've done, yet all I've ever encountered at this shithole is racism, disrespect, harassment, and even hate crimes all the way from staff to senior members to the rank and file troll filth and even the Gay Plague (or as they call themselves the LGBT troll horde) for my race (as one of the First People), for my religion (Traditionalism), and my Native Pride. Then they have the nerve to claim this wasteland is a big family. Well, I'm getting beyond sick of this SHIT!!! Matter of a fact, I'm done letting you racist Anigada make money off of MY work! Wait until I can get a good bit of free time scheduled in my busy life. Tis funny LGBTs claimed their marriage would 'end all inequality and discrimination' which any UTTER FOOL can plainly see is nonsense, but still twas claimed and yet where's dA's support for MY People? Nowhere. Same old shit, just another broken treaty. It all adds up to nothing like all the rest of the lies of the Eurocentrics.

UPDATE (7/17/15): Now that its not just 1 staff member but the site telling us basically to just let art thieves steal our hard work It's too much for me. DA has come out with a big series of journals called something like 'The Art Theft Discussion' and basically made pro-art thief comments, basically said we have to try to reason with the thieves but must accept the thief's terms, and adhere to da's moral code. The reason da doesn't care about art thieves is they are LAZY ASSES who don't want to do anything including fix bugs must less their job of protecting the art hosted here and because they want thieves to steal it and put it in their gallery as the more art and more gallery pages the more ads and the more revenue from them they get. Not to mention all the other info tracking and stealing to sell that goes on they won't tell you about. I know I got a program to notify and block all that crap. Well I'll tell you about da's moral code from what they said to me when I was being harassed not long before this whole big topic, bad is good morals, good is bad morals to sum it up. I live in a Devil worshiping shit hole that makes it legal only to follow its ideal of morals and I don't follow them either. Its funny how da will let people attack me for being one of the First People, for being straight and even participate in harassment for these issues. You won't get me to give up on my People and become a flag waving nut nor will you get me to be a homo nor support any of these things. So go to hell da. I'm not living by your rainbow morals nor am I making you money with my galleries or allowing my hard work to be stolen, so I'll be closing my gallery completely. I suppose I might stay on to watch people I like, but much less time spent here for sure I still haven't decided really.

UPDATE (7/24/15): All my galleries are now closed aside from my 'Premade Journal Skins' gallery to sell journal skins. I will no longer post ANY work to dA aside from similar works so for all the jack ass trolls, you can go away and stay the hell away. There's nothing here for you anymore. I will still do commissions in case there's somebody who wants to buy one, but there will be no more examples aside from a select few and I have increased the points price by another 100 in protest of dA's immoral practices and next time dA slips up I'm going to stop taking them completely and cut their profits off MY hard work out completely. And for the few true friends I've found here I'll still be around to talk and I'll continue to watch a few people/groups and manage my own. Otherwise I'm done as I'm sick of dA's BS racism and amorality and having the nerve to try to force their BS 'Moral Code' on us.
